The Scientific Committee invites all those interested in this species, and biology and conservation of threatened species in general, to participate in the II International Symposium of Red Kite. We invite submission of talks or posters where the research relevant to the subject matter of the congress.
Attendees will send summaries of the work they intend to present, indicating whether it be a talk or poster, provided it meets with the themes of the Congress. The subject areas are detailed below:
- Census and distribution of the species.
- Spatial ecology and population connectivity.
- Conservation of the species.
- Technical aspects of capture and handling.
- Dissemination and awareness.
No communications will be accepted until it has been confirmed by Symposium registration of at least one of the authors.
A summary of the poster or oral communication you want to present in the Symposium will be forwarded.
The text of the summary must be submitted in English.
Due to limited time, the Scientific Committee will select a number of oral communications depending on the interest to Symposium.
Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their communications before October 15th 2015.
Talks not selected may be presented as a poster.
Talks or posters received will be subject to evaluation by the Scientific Committee.
All content is the responsibility of the authors.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts for talks and posters will be October 1, 2015.
The abstract should be sent to contactredkitesymposium2015.com.
Abstracts submitted by mail will not be accepted.
FORMAT OF THE SUMMARIES
Proposals must be submitted with the following characteristics:
Word document (.doc, .docx).
ARIAL 12pt, single line spacing.
No bibliographic references or figures.
Summaries should include (in order):
Exact title of communication.
First name and surnames of the authors.
Summary of the Communication, with a maximum of 300 words.
The file summary should state the surnames of the first author and type of communication. The name of the file will be named as follows:
Oral communication: surnames_oral.doc
A presentation certificate of the communication will be issued to all authors whose work is accepted, and abstracts included in the Book of summaries of the Symposium. Submissions must conform to the rules of Symposium as to date range, text formatting, size, etc.
Registration of at least one of the authors to the Symposium is essential for acceptance of the proposals.
The authors of accepted walks will have 15 minutes for presentation at the Symposium.
All should be PowerPoint or PDF file. No slides or transparencies will be accepted.
The language of communication can be in Spanish or English.
Each session will have a moderator in charge of indicating to the speaker their remaining time
English-Spanish translation will be offered during all of the talks.
For the final presentation of the poster is a precondition that the summary has been accepted by the Scientific Committee and that is related with the thematic areas with those described previously. The delivery date of the summary is the same as in communications, October 1st, 2015. The authors of each poster accepted will receive their certificate.
The admission of the posters shall be notified before October 15th and the final shipment of the same before October 20th, 2015.
The posters will be sent in PDF format for review.
The panels should be self-explanatory.
Minimum size 10 mm writing is recommended.
Vertical format. Measures between 90-100 cm (width) x 120-180 cm (high).
The posters will be exhibited in the space provided in the conference room.
The material to fix the posters will be provided by the Organizing Committee.
At least one author must be registered at the Symposium to present and defend the research in the poster. This author should be responsible for bringing the poster and placing it in the space that has been assigned as well as pick it up on the hours provided within the program.
To publish the posters in the Book of proceedings authors are required to send the text describing their work that conforms to the rules of communications, both in extent and other
characteristics. Works that do not comply with these rules will not be published.
Poster presentation requires registration as a requirement in Symposium.
Withdrawal of posters
All material must be collected by the author at the end of the day conference. Those posters that have not been collected will be removed by the Organizing Committee and kept only until the last day of the Symposium. The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for any loss Poster and will not be responsible or storage, neither sending to their authors.
The Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the village of Binaced and sponsors of the Symposium, will publish the papers accepted by the Scientific Committee in the Conference Proceedings, provided that at least one author has registered in symposium and Article respects the defined format.
The Book of summaries will be available for viewing in this section of the web and communicated through social networks and email to all registered.
The presentation of summaries and posters implies acceptance of the standards set by the symposium organization.
The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject and remove any abstract or poster that does not meet the requirements specified in these rules.
